Bible Puzzle ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the app's features.

Account information

  • Email address — used for login, email verification, and password reset
  • Username — your public display name within the app
  • Password — stored as a one-way bcrypt hash; we never store your plain-text password
  • Self-introduction — optional bio you choose to share

Game & activity data

  • Verse puzzle pieces collected and placed
  • In-game items and currency (coins, diamonds)
  • Mission participation, team history, and answer records
  • Daily reading progress and streak
  • Badge and achievement progress
  • Task completion records

Notebook content

  • Notes, highlights, and reflections you write in the app
  • Notes are stored locally by default; they are only uploaded to our server if you explicitly choose to sync or share them

Social data

  • Friend relationships (accepted, pending, blocked)
  • Mailbox messages and attachments you send or receive within the app

Device & technical data

  • Push notification token (FCM) — used to deliver mission alerts, friend requests, and mail notifications to your device
  • Device language setting — used to localise content
  • API request logs — request timestamp, endpoint, and HTTP status; we do not log message bodies or personal content

Avatar image (optional)

  • If you upload a custom profile photo, it is stored on our server and visible to other users in the app

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To provide Bible reading, puzzle collection, and mission gameplay features
  • To sync your notebook and game progress across devices
  • To enable friend connections and in-app messaging
  • To send push notifications for mission events, friend requests, and new mail
  • To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset)
  • To diagnose technical issues via server logs
  • To display your profile (username, avatar) to friends within the app

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond operating the app.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers hosted by Bluehost (USA). We use bcrypt hashing for passwords and HTTPS for all data in transit. Per-user data files are stored in access-controlled directories not reachable by direct HTTP request.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Limited data is shared only in these cases:

  • With other users you choose: your username, avatar, and any notes or messages you share through the app's social features are visible to the friends you connect with
  • With service providers: Firebase (Google) receives your device's push notification token solely to deliver notifications; Bluehost hosts our server infrastructure
  • As required by law: we may disclose data if required by a valid legal process

5. Your Rights

You may at any time:

  • Access or correct your account information via Settings in the app
  • Delete your account via Settings → Account → Delete Account; this permanently removes all your data from our servers
  • Withdraw notification permission via your device's system settings
  • Request a copy of your data by emailing us at tinanlin@gmail.com

6. Children's Privacy

Bible Puzzle is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

  • 您在應用程式內寄送或收到的信箱訊息與附件

裝置與技術資料

  • 推播通知 Token（FCM）── 用於傳送任務提醒、好友邀請及新郵件通知至您的裝置
  • 裝置語言設定 ── 用於顯示對應語言的內容
  • API 請求日誌 ── 記錄請求時間、端點及 HTTP 狀態碼；我們不會記錄訊息內容或個人資料

大頭照圖片（選填）

  • 若您上傳自訂大頭貼，圖片將儲存於我們的伺服器，並對應用程式內的其他使用者顯示

您的資料儲存於 Bluehost（美國）的伺服器上。我們使用 bcrypt 雜湊儲存密碼，並對所有傳輸中的資料使用 HTTPS 加密。使用者個人資料檔案儲存於受存取控制保護的目錄，無法透過 HTTP 直接存取。
